LEARN TAI CHI

21st century tai chi WITH THE TEAPOTMONK

For beginners, finding out about Tai Chi online can be a confusing task. There are so many choices online, each claiming to offer everything. Each promising to give you everything.

One suggestion is to keep an open mind, to explore, to try out and don’t be afraid to ask if you need advice as to what will work best for you.

My name is Paul Read (the teapotmonk - see below this page). I’m here to help you start your practice and so have created a Tai Chi Starters Kit (see below, made up of paperback book, video course and more.)

Otherwise, take your time, and browse the site. You’ll find plenty to read, watch or exercises to try. Start with the Basics Section below, then move on to Steps 2 and 3. Not a beginner? Then you may be looking for the Articles section or wish to explore the books and courses available (step 3 below). For all this, see the tabs at the top of the page.

WHO IS THE TEAPOTMONK?

I’m also known as Paul Read. In my 35+ years of teaching, I have tried to simplify and streamline the art in order to make it more approachable and easy to learn. To that end I have written the Illustrated Tai Chi workbook, the Beginners Guide to the Tai Chi Form, as well as half a dozen other books.

I’ve also produced podcasts as well as some very special online courses and unique self-study workshops for beginners.

My approach and style is not for everyone. So if you are looking for a levitating-sage that lives on a mountain and has a trained army of guru teachers around the world, - I’m afraid I’ll disappoint. But if you are looking for a contemporary, urban, down-to-earth, accessible 21st century guy, then check out the site. You might like what you see.

Email me here if you would like to get int touch or would like some personal feedback on learning this way might work best for you.
